I am a working father of two boys (ages 11 & 15), husband, as well as a seminary student. So my time is to handle things is limited. I bought ten tickets to see with my family (nephews, in-laws, my kids) the midnight release of Spiderman. This was a large purchase, and I expect what is promised. Our tickets were for theater 3, but theater 2 opened up early so the Edwards staff directed us into theater 2, even promising that the sound was of better quality (DTS). As the previews started we noticed that the sound was acting funny. All channels would cut-out except for the center channel.
We dismissed it but came abruptly to the realization that this was going to be a constant feature throughout the rest of our experience at Edwards. Mind you this was my first Midnight movie, and it will be my last… why?
Because I was refused a refund. A business that refuses to refund a damaged product or promised experience is a company that should be boycotted. More and more people are waiting for DVD and enjoying the surround experience as promised by Sony, Onkyo, Kenwood. These theaters will continue to lose business if this is how they treat their customers. All they will have are short surges of customers for big releases but will continue to lose their base if these policies are followed.
NetFlix and Blockbuster will grow.
That’s it, that’s my experience. I spent lots of money, tried to enjoy what Edwards promised us we would, and we were disappointed not only by the lack of quality of what was offered, but also by the lack of customer service.
A Maltreated EX-customer of Edwards.
